On November 8, 1987, a Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) bomb exploded during a Remembrance Day service at the war memorial in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. The attack killed eleven civilians, including ten Protestants and one Catholic, and injured over sixty others. The bombing, which occurred moments before the ceremony was due to begin, caused widespread condemnation internationally and within Ireland.
