On February 21, 1917, the Irish Convention met to discuss the implementation of Home Rule for Ireland. Convened during World War I, the convention aimed to find a resolution to the long-standing 'Irish Question' and address the political divisions within Ireland regarding self-governance. Despite extensive deliberations and efforts to bridge the gap between nationalist and unionist factions, the convention ultimately proved unsuccessful in reaching a consensus. Nevertheless, it represented a significant attempt at a peaceful political resolution during a turbulent period in Irish history.
