The Miami Showband massacre occurred on August 14, 1975, when three members of the popular Irish showband were killed by Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) gunmen in County Down, Northern Ireland. The band's minibus was stopped at a bogus checkpoint by loyalist paramilitaries, some of whom were also serving members of the Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR). The brutal attack, which also injured two other band members, shocked Ireland and raised serious questions about collusion between loyalist paramilitaries and security forces during the Troubles.
