Rory O'Connor, a prominent Irish republican and Director of Engineering for the Irish Republican Army (IRA) during the Irish War of Independence, was born on November 28, 1883, in Dublin. He was a staunch opponent of the Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921, which led to the Irish Civil War.
